DISTRICT STATEMENT REGARDING THE BOARD MEETING INCIDENT

Due to a full-day outage of internet and phone services on April 14, 2026, the District utilized a personal cell phone to provide call-in access for the board meeting. Following the adjournment, the administrative assistant believed the call had ended. A recording that has since circulated on social media captured a private conversation that occurred after the meeting had concluded.

This conversation was not part of the official board meeting. It reflects a private exchange made during travel home and is protected under First Amendment rights. It is not part of the official proceedings or decision making process of the Governing Board.

The words and sentiments on the recording do not reflect the beliefs, practices, or culture of the Seligman Unified School Governing Board. We do not condone nor approve the statements, nor do we believe that they were appropriate.

Due to the power outage, Prom will be canceled tonight and rescheduled for a later date.

NO SCHOOL TODAY. Attention parents, due to an APS power outage there will be no school today. MS dance for today will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date. HS prom for tomorrow evening is still a go!
